1st Day of Marriage: July 30th, 2017

Journal Entry for July 30th, 2017, Sunday

We woke up early the next morning in order to make it over to the Bridal Party house for the Post Wedding Brunch. We get dressed and my cousin, Mary, comes over to pick us up.
My nails are so long, it is difficult for me to do my own hair, so I ask if she would be able to help me, and she does. I put on some light makeup, and we chat about the wedding.
The newlyweds, in an elevator!

She then drives us over to the Bridal Party house. There is already so many people there, and more keep coming. We had invited everyone through text and e-mail the previous week to come to the Post-Wedding Brunch, a lot of people showed up.

Daniel’s friends Zach and Ashley are there and they want to play Dominion with us. I tell them I definitely want to a little later after things have died down a bit. We have a wonderful time talking with everyone about the wedding.
Mary has us go around and take pictures with many of the relatives, which was probably a good idea, since we hadn’t gotten to really do that at the wedding (though, we should have… Hindsight… :/  ).

Before we know it, people are ready to start leaving, so we head to the living room and inform everyone that we would be opening our presents soon.
My mom & I--Cynthia and I made the card box for the wedding!

Once there, Miss Emma is once again thrilled to be our helper, and we are happy to have here there. She helps us open our four presents and the cards with them, and she couldn’t be more excited to be doing so!

Beautiful Mr. & Mrs. coffee mugs from Uncle Pete & Aunt Amy's family!

Beautiful canvas pictures for our future home from Aunt Annette's family!

We got Beauty and the Beast tea and a figurine from my cousins Margie & Joyce. A.K’s family got us a beautiful picnic basket with all the fixings for a picnic. Susanna’s family got us Mr. & Mrs. Happily Ever After mugs, and Aunt Annette’s family got us two, large canvas photos. One of my dad and I, and the other of Josh and I.
A lot of people were there for a long time. From what I saw, many of the relatives (on all three sides--Radosevich, Fiala, and Fetterman) helped so much with the clean up of the house and the brunch. I was so grateful for that! Everyone really came together!
At one point, I pulled my mom aside with me, to Josh and I’s room, so that she could help me pack and get ready. Julie joined us for awhile and I was so grateful for them being there and helping. It was nice to have a moment with my mother and sister after the wedding. They helped me get a lot done.
After packing up our room, I tell Josh that Zach and Ashley were looking to play Dominion with us. He said he couldn’t because he was so busy with getting the house in order. He didn’t think I should either, for this reason, but I had kind of promised them, so I went down and we played a good game of Dominion. (I love that game.)
Zach and Ashley end up swimming with Daniel and Cynthia at the end of everything.
Our broken down Prius was tied to Craig’s car (Adam’s dad), who was going to tow it back to AZ for us so that we could get it fixed. Since we had SO MUCH STUFF from the wedding, someone decided it would be best to just load everything into the Prius, which was being taken back to AZ anyway. This made sense and they filled it to the absolute brim with our stuff.
Dad really helped out alot with everything. He stayed till Josh and I left.
Josh’s parents, David and Karen, gave us a ride back to our hotel. Once there, they came in with us and I packed up my wedding gown and veil in the box that I was supposed to use to ship it out for cleaning. We gave them the rest of the under-things and accessories, and also Josh’s outfit. It didn’t make sense for us to take these things on our Honeymoon, so we were grateful that they came to drop us off and take them for us.
After they left, Josh lay on the bed as I entered all our presents on the Wedding Wire site to help us keep track of them.
Josh kept telling me to take a nap with him and let it go, and I eventually did. We took a good several hour nap! We would have loved to have gotten up and gone swimming, but we just crashed as soon as we laid down. We slept all the way until the evening, at which point we woke up to order room service and watch Game of Thrones. That was fun.
Room service & GOT.
